Shipbuilding in Klaipeda was already mentioned in the middle of the 18-th century.
Association of Lithuania Shipbuilders and Repairers started activities only in April 28, 2003. Primary objectives of Association are coordination of activities of companies – Association members for solving common problems, representation and protection of interests delegated by Association members at state and international organizations of the Republic of Lithuania.
Association consists of 17 companies, having about 2200 employees; total turnover amount to over 227 mln. EUR.
Main companies in Association: Shipbuilding Yard “Baltija” JSC, Western Shipyard JSC. These companies are the most great and up-to-date shipbuilding and shiprepair companies in the Baltic region.
